Mark 3:4 - Additional Comments

Is there any situations where our rules wind up having more influence on us than compassion? Of course, we always need to be careful not to be abused, and we need to be careful to balance our ministries. But we can still ask this question to make sure the rules are secondary. Jesus is basically asking the question, what are your priorities? Their priorities were messed up, weren't they?
Tell me your priorities. Do you care about others? Do you care about your relationship with God? Are your priorities messed up? Okay, list what you spent time on this past week or so. How did your relationship with God, and ministry to others, factor in? What one thing can you do different this week?
The Pharisees were given the truth, and they would not, could not, acknowledge it as truth. How sad when truth is laid out before someone and they cannot accept it. We mentioned earlier what are the fundamental questions. Add this - What is Truth? We actually have found the answer, and yet those seeking the truth are unwilling to accept it.
The sad thing for us is we have the Truth in our hands when we hold the Bible, and yet we know so little of it and how to use it. As a master of any sport through sacrifice and time learns to handle the tools of their sports with an expert touch, we should learn to handle to tools of Truth with an expert touch.
Their silence speaks volumes. May God teach us when to speak and when to be silent to most honor Him.
