Jesus went straight to the Temple and threw out everyone who had set up shop, buying and selling. He kicked over the tables of loan sharks and the stalls of dove merchants. He quoted this text:

   My house was designated a house of prayer;
   You have made it a hangout for thieves.
Now there was room for the blind and crippled to get in. They came to Jesus and he healed them.

Matthew 21:12 - Additional Comments

The temple is the house of God, a dwelling place for Him, and is holy, sacred (1 Kings 8:43).
We are now the temple of God (1 Cor 3:16-17). When Jesus looks at His temple, what will He find there? How Jesus would love to go through and throw all the things in our lives that are unholy and don't deserve to be in His temple! Will you be embarrassed before Jesus when He sees what you have allowed in your temple?
