Prov 1:7 says the fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, and here it tells how to understand the fear of the Lord. I need to cry out for discernment (verse 3), to seek understanding like silver (verse 4). Do this first, then comes the fear of the Lord, then knowledge.
