Proverbs 5:3 - The Message

The lips of a seductive woman are oh so sweet,
   her soft words are oh so smooth.
But it won’t be long before she’s gravel in your mouth,
   a pain in your gut, a wound in your heart.
She’s dancing down the primrose path to Death;
   she’s headed straight for Hell and taking you with her.
She hasn’t a clue about Real Life,
   about who she is or where she’s going.

Proverbs 5:3 - Additional Comments

This admits an immoral woman is initially attractive, but later (vs 4) will be bitter and painful. She draws men to hell (vs 5). This is a warning in case you consider going with her (follow "her path of life" - vs 6). In fact, stay far away from her (vs 8), for you will reap the penalties listed in verses 9-14.
Who is this immoral woman? Anyone who would draw you away from "your own cistern", i.e. your own wife, or if not married, anyone who would draw you into an ungodly relationship. But, we need to be very careful, because this could be any woman you spend too much time with, especially alone. Do not spend time alone with any woman who is not your wife!
This is so much more than just physical bonding - it is anything that draws your passions and desires to women besides your wife (Matt 5:27-28). It could be the written word, it could be photos, it could be movies, etc. Otherwise you pay the penalties described in this chapter. You know what puts fire in your bones, what lifts the passions in you. Don't make excuses - if there are things that raise your passions to other women, stay away from them!
You will never be satisfied with anything or anyone besides your wife. It will continually draw you into the pit, and you will only lust for more. This is similar to the description of an alcoholic in Prov 23:29-35. It is destroying you, yet you seek more.
In place of these things, enjoy your wife. See vs 15 and on.
