Romans 1:16 - Additional Comments

If we are not compassionate for others, we don't have a heart like Jesus. WWJD (what would Jesus do?) - Jesus would have a heart for souls.
We have to remember it is not our power but God's power that works in lives. Salvation and Christian maturity is from God, not from the words we present. The gospel is powerful, and we don't realize it. God's great power is what gives salvation to those who believe (Acts 16:17)
The gospel was first presented to Jews, and then to Gentiles. Yet there is no distinction in God's eyes (Rom 10:12), for anyone who believes will be saved (Rom 10:13).
Here Paul is presenting it to both Jews and Gentiles. His beliefs were unattractive to most of the Romans, but he was not intimidated.
Without the presentation of the gospel, how will anyone know? And no one will know unless the gospel is presented (Rom 10:14-15). We have all been given to call to share the gospel (Acts 1:8, Matt 28:19-20). Why do we avoid sharing? See notes on Acts 1:8. What compels us to share? The love of Christ for others - 2 Cor 5:14.
What is the gospel? Jesus was sent to preach it (Luke 4:18). It is hidden to those who are perishing (2 Cor 4:3-4). A great example of presenting the gospel is in Acts 13:16-41.
