Romans 3:23 - Additional Comments

Every person has sinned. But worse than just looking at a list of sins, every person is depraved and in the state described in vs 10-18.
Even those who some might consider moral - James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
The "glory of God" is His essence based on His righteousness. We have seen His glory in Jesus (John 1:1,14).
His essence flows from Him, so that it is visible and bright. (Luke 2:9, 14, 20.)
And, we are to give glory to God (Rev 14:7), meaning by lifting up God or doing what He wants, we make Him known, and we raise Him up in honor and esteem.
Man was made to glorify God. It is a sad state we are in, that no one is able to do that, that all fall short of the chief aim of man. All have sinned, and in sin, we cannot give Him glory. Yet, by faith in God, we can accomplish this, glorifying God.
So, by faith, not only are we arriving at the glory of God ourselves, we also glorify God by our faith, and now can regularly glorify God.
Yet again, it is a sad state because so few by faith get to their chief aim in life. They remain completely unfulfilled in life, and don't even know why.
