Romans 6:11 - Additional Comments
Not only are we to see ourselves as free from sin, from that slavery, here it describes us as being even further removed - we are dead to sin. When you are dead, you can't go back. And, when you are made alive, you now can do all a live person can do - our new life is a freedom to be alive to God, to give our life to Him.
