Romans 8:4 - Additional Comments

The "law of sin and death" has a requirement - perfection! This cannot be fulfilled in us unless we have the Spirit of God. How do we get this Spirit?
Eph 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Now that we have the Spirit, we are known as those "who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit". Effectively this means the Spirit is acting as a coach to us. Think about a coach on the basketball court sidelines, telling the players where to move, what play to call, and what pace to move at. But sometimes the players get so caught up in the activity that they don't hear the coach, and make mistakes. The Spirit it telling us where to move, how to move, etc., but are we listening? We have Him as our coach, a perfect coach - let's pay attention to what He says!
