John 10:10 - Additional Comments

What is Satan's goal for us? Loss, death, destruction. Amazingly, those are his hopes, his goals for us. Yes, we need not worry, for our God is infinitely more powerful, and Satan only has reign where God has allowed it. See 1 John 4:4.
Though many of us dream of having this abundant life, few of us are really living it. The problems, setbacks, and distractions that pervade our lives seem to snuff out our hope of walking in victory and enjoying the blessings that have been set aside for us in Christ Jesus. But God does not want us to live defeated lives, He wants us to thrive, not just survive.
Is your cup overflowing, or is it running dry? (Psalm 23:5) Despite the hardships Davis was enduring, he was able to say these words.
- God promises He will do for us beyond what we can even imagine (Eph 3:20).
- we should be able to say with the psalmist our mouth is filled with laughter and our tongue with singing (Psa 126:2, Job 8:21)
- and, in Psalm 126:3, the Lord has done great things for us
- if God is for us, who can be against us (Rom 8:31)
- we can do all things through Christ, for God supplies all our needs (Phil 4:13, 19)
God doesn't merely want us to be alive, but He wants us to have an abundant life, with our cup overflowing. How full is your cup? How about each person in your family? Think about each one. How full would you rate their cup? Their cup can't be full without knowing well the voice of the Shepherd.(verses 1-9).
