Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

   Compared to them, you’re not much, are you?

The peace, luxury, and affluence they now enjoyed (verses 4-6) was a false foundation. First, what they had was not as great as other kingdoms (verse 2), and second, it would not last -- they will be destroyed (verses 7-11).
