The wise talk about the creation of the Universe, the cause and effect of things, mocking miracles. In their wisdom, if it contradicts with what God has said, they are wrong. Their wisdom results in nothing. God even destroys their wisdom. The more we know, and view it from God's point-of-view, the more those who contradict God's Word are shown to be wrong - their wisdom is "destroyed".
