1 Corinthians 2:11 - Additional Comments

No one else besides yourself knows what goes on inside you. No matter how much you open up to me, I still can't see what goes on in your spirit - only you can. Now if you spirit could talk to me, I'd know a whole bunch about you that I've never seen. Knowing your thought life, how'd you like for your spirit to be completely open and show me all of who you are? Well, God already revealed to us how black our nature is, and none of us have an inner thought life that we'd be proud to announce to the world (all our righteousness is as filthy rags - Isa 64:6, and no one is good but God - Luke 18:19). Thanks be to God that our sins are covered and that God, who can see all of who we are, removes the mess by the blood of Jesus.
(We should be more embarrassed before God for things we allow in our life. We should hate the sin in our life the same way God does when He sees it. He does see all of it, and hates all of it.)
In the same way we can't know the spirit of God unless His Spirit reveals it to us. And, compared to us, what a beautiful thing to see! Open up your life to let the Spirit reveal to you the depths of God, and the mind of Christ (vs 16).
