1 Corinthians 2:14 - The Message

The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can’t receive the gifts of God’s Spirit. There’s no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit—God’s Spirit and our spirits in open communion. Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God’s Spirit is doing, and can’t be judged by unspiritual critics. Isaiah’s question, "Is there anyone around who knows God’s Spirit, anyone who knows what he is doing?" has been answered: Christ knows, and we have Christ’s Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:14 - New American Standard Bible

But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

Do you have any troubles in your life? Is there anything going on that is not satisfactory? Are you struggling with certain things?
We ask psychologists and psychiatrists and counselors to help us find the answer. Go here and do this and say that and try this. Why isn't it working? Don't you know that it is a spiritual problem? Don't you know what the only answer to a spiritual problem is a spiritual answer?
Note that the natural man, without divine inspiration, cannot discern, cannot understand, the things of God. One who reads Scripture without inspiration by the Spirit cannot understand what God is saying in them. See also Matt 13:11, John 14:26, 15:26, 1 Cor 1:18.
