Who has it been difficult for you to love?
We don't know who else Cain felt this way about, but we know Cain found Abel hard to love.
Your ill-will towards others both resembles Cain's attitude, and is from the devil.
God doesn't ask us to lose the hate, nor does He ask us to put up with others. We are asked to love. Anything less should be unacceptable. For, God doesn't accept it.
At the same time, we should hate sin & evil. Create a list of sin, the things that God hates.
We've listed what God loves (verse 11), and what He hates. Through His Spirit, may His passions be our passions.
Some of what God hates: complaining, impatience, bragging, dishonoring God, bitterness, love of money, sowing discord, lack of respect for authority, ingratitude, idolatry, fear of man, evil-speech, reading filthy literature, lust, impure mediations, silence, no backbone, lack of convictions, laziness, cheating, jealousy, prayerlessness, greedy, robbing God of tithes/offerings, gambling, no servant's heart, taking drugs, unforgiving, prideful, revengeful, critical, adultery, homosexuality, drunkenness, love for the world, over-indulgence, gossip, love for praise of men, witchcraft, and reading horoscopes.
