1 Kings 17:1

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

In 1 Kings 16, Baasha was king of the Northern Kingdom, Israel - he made the people of Israel sin, and the Lord was against him.
Elah, Baasha's son, became king. He did evil, and reigned for 2 years.
Zimri killed Elah, and became king for 7 days. He did evil in God's eyes. He committed suicide when he saw he lost a battle led by Omri, commander in chief of the Israeli military.
Omri became king, and reigned 12 years. He did evil in God's eyes, worse than all who were before him (16:25)
When Omri died, Ahad his son became king in his place. He did evil in God's eyes, worse than all who were before him (16:30) Ahab married Jezebel (16:31), and they both worshipped Baal. Jezebel was a Phoenician princess, who lived in what is now Lebanon. She was a devout worshiper of Baal.
