1 Peter 2:16 - Additional Comments

See bondage and freedom described in Gal 5:1,13.
We are free in Christ. Paradoxically, by following more rules (God's law), we have true freedom (Gal 5:1), because we are free from sin. Sin causes pain, and we now have the power to avoid the things that cause pain. If you are allowing sin to infiltrate your life, you are allowing pain to be regular in your life. Through God you have the power to be free from sin and pain (the pain that sin causes).
