Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands. Sarah, for instance, taking care of Abraham, would address him as "my dear husband." Youll be true daughters of Sarah if you do the same, unanxious and unintimidated.

1 Peter 3:4 - Additional Comments
"Gentleness" is related to "meekness", found in Galatians 5:23; 6:1; James 3:13; etc. It means:
" not insistent on one's own rights
" not pushy
" not selfishly assertive
" not demanding one's own way.
Such a spirit is the result of quiet and continual trust in God to supply one's needs, and God delights in being trusted (see 1 Peter 1:5, 7-9, 21; 2:6-7, 23; 5:7).
