1 Peter 4:13 - Additional Comments

These events are intended to try us, not to break or ruin us.
Know that as you participate in suffering for Christ, you actually participate with Him in His sufferings. Christ endured it. We can too. God promises us an avenue of escape (1 Cor. 10:13).
Don't think that you, with maturity, move beyond troubles and trials for the sake of Christ. It may actually move you closer to them. Look at Jesus, Paul, Peter, Stephen, etc.
Our rejoicing doesn't need to be despite of our sufferings, but we can actually rejoice because of our sufferings.
When they mock you, ridicule you, wow, they are blaspheming the Spirit. The Spirit takes on these blows. So they are not necessarily against us, but against God.
