1 Peter 4:3

King James Version (KJV)

For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

Translations

1 Peter 4:3 - Amplified Bible

For the time that is past already suffices for doing what the Gentiles like to do--living [as you have done] in shameless, insolent wantonness, in lustful desires, drunkenness, reveling, drinking bouts {and} abominable, lawless idolatries.

1 Peter 4:3 - American Standard Version

For the time past may suffice to have wrought the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries:

1 Peter 4:3 - Bible in Basic English

Because for long enough, in times past, we have been living after the way of the Gentiles, given up to the desires of the flesh, to drinking and feasting and loose behaviour and unclean worship of images;

1 Peter 4:3 - Darby Bible

For the time past [is] sufficient [for us] to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, lusts, wine-drinking, revels, drinkings, and unhallowed idolatries.

1 Peter 4:3 - English Standard Version

For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.

1 Peter 4:3 - King James Version

For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

1 Peter 4:3 - La Biblia de las Americas

Porque el tiempo ya pasado os es suficiente para haber hecho lo que agrada a los gentiles, habiendo andado en sensualidad, lujurias, borracheras, orgìas, embriagueces y abominables idolatrìas.

1 Peter 4:3 - The Message

You’ve already put in your time in that God-ignorant way of life, partying night after night, a drunken and profligate life. Now it’s time to be done with it for good. Of course, your old friends don’t understand why you don’t join in with the old gang anymore. But you don’t have to give an account to them. They’re the ones who will be called on the carpet—and before God himself.

1 Peter 4:3 - New American Standard Bible

For the time already past is sufficient {for you} to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties and abominable idolatries.

1 Peter 4:3 - World English Bible

For we have spent enough of our past time living in doing the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

1 Peter 4:3 - Young's Living Translation

for sufficient to us [is] the past time of life the will of the nations to have wrought, having walked in lasciviousnesses, desires, excesses of wines, revelings, drinking-bouts, and unlawful idolatries,

1 Peter 4:3 - Additional Comments

Here lists some of the sinful ways we have lived outside of a relationship with God:
lewdness - sexually impure thoughts or actions
lusts - caught up in the desire of things that are not what God wants for you
drunkenness - consuming alcohol or drugs to alter your awareness
revelries - wild, uncontrolled parties, without care to actions
drinking parties - parties where alcohol is served
abominable idolatries - detestable, loathsome valuing other things above God
