But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Here is discussed the results, the end of suffering. And this is by God's grace.
Perfect - repair, complete, fill out, take on God's character.
Establish - to fix in a certain direction, so that you won't waver from the path.
Strengthen - make stronger in spiritual knowledge and power and faith. This is the faith that resists the devil.
Settle you - build the foundation, so when future sufferings come, they are easier to handle, or may not even become an issue.
