1 Samuel 11:12 - Additional Comments
Obviously the people of Israel were delighted in the leadership and wisdom that Saul had exhibited. God had clearly stated that anointed a king was sin, yet the people were ready to kill those who had protested raising up a king. Just because the results of sin in the short term may seem harmless or even beneficial, that does not justify sin. Sin always results in destruction. It is a basic law of God, no different than the law of gravity in its guarantee of a predictable outcome. Don't even think you have gotten away with sin. Is there any sin in your life that you feel you have gotten away with? Watch out.
