1 Samuel 15:23

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Samuel is telling Saul not to think lightly of his sins, suggesting Saul was thinking these sins were small, trivial. God says no, sin is sin, and God hates it.
Once again Saul is told that he is being rejected as king (as in 13:14).
