But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you:

Timothy had returned to Paul and Silas in Corinth.
How refreshing (and comforting - vs 7) was the news from Timothy! Verse 5 shows their concerns, but the church was still going strong. Plus, they still had strong affection for Paul and Silas.
