In addition to the faith and love, we also see them being praised for their patience. Generally we don't have the situations like the Thessalonians had that required patience through persecutions and tribulations. What are situations we face that requires patience?
Some verses on patience from Proverbs:

(Prov 14:29) He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.
