For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

If those who know you came and testified of your faith and walk, what would they say? Would they react as John was here, rejoicing as to how you are doing?
Note that not only was Gaius serving faithfully, but note how John reacted -- with rejoicing. It should thrill our heart
when we hear of others serving faithfully. This is evidence of your faith.
Love does not envy, but rejoices in the success of others.
As a parent rejoices in the success of their children, so it is with spiritual parents. Do you have children, or are you childless? Do you have others who you've helped and watch grow, in which you rejoice?
