Deuteronomy 8:3

And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.

Wow - how great it is that God revealed His purposes for some of the circumstances. And how rare, because how many times it is we go through difficult circumstances and we never get a good view as to what the reasons were for them. Yet, we can trust that there were good and perfect reasons for them.
