Ephesians 2:10

Ephesians 2:10 - Additional Comments

The term 'workmanship' is most precisely translated as 'creation', and work that God has created. We are a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Cor 5:17). We are God's work, and therefore are to do His works. As a new creation, we are to avoid sin (since we are now alive - vs 1), confess/repent any sin, and walk in good works. So, how do we do this?
- Know that God has given us freedom to not sin (Rom 6:7-8), so we are no longer slaves to sin (Rom 6:16-22).
- Know that God always give you a path to avoid sin - you do not have to make that choice! (1 Cor 10:13)
- Run from sin, any form of sin, and temptation itself (Prov 4:14-15)
- Flee sexual immorality (1 Cor 6:18)
- Get into the Word, memorize it (Psalms 119:9,11)
- Abide with God, spend time with Him, live with Him, practice His presence (John 15:5, 7)
Note that we are not just to avoid sin, but we are to be walking in good works. We are all to have a ministry. Our new life is a creation of God, not just for eternal life, but to walk in good works. We should have a passion for good works for God, never to earn a better position, but because that is our position. We don't work towards a ministry, we are created in the position as a minister.
Each day we should ask God what He would have us to do this day... and then do it.
