Ephesians 2:4 - Additional Comments

Verse 1-3 described the state we all were in without Christ, and the state all those without Christ are in. We are all deserving of hell. Instead of questioning why a loving God would send people to hell, we should marvel that anyone escapes it! And why can some escape it? Because God is rich in mercy. Mercy says we don't get what we deserve. And why is God merciful towards us? Because of the great love He has for us, even in the midst of our disobedience and rebellion and sin (vs 5).
With His great mercy, then what did He do for us? He made us alive..., but not just barely alive. We became alive to be with Christ! The great place where Christ dwells, we have been invited to dwell in the same place! We went from being miserable sinners, dead in sin, in great disobedience, to where we get to live with Christ (vs 6). Amazing.
