Ephesians 4:12 - Additional Comments
God gave each person gifts to accomplish His mission (to be useful to the Master, prepared for good works - 2 Tim 2:21). God has a Project Plan (using Microsoft Project?). Each person has been given tasks to accomplish the end goal. What happens when some individuals ignore their tasks in the Project Plan? Well, others have to pick up the slack, and some things won't get done. Have you looked at God's Project Plan, and the tasks He has for you to do? Are you ignoring His plan? Are you not doing the right tasks, or not doing them as He wanted them to be done?
Note that the gifts are to equip and edify others, not the one with the gift. It must be selfless, or it diminishes the power of the Spirit to use the gift.
The gifts are to be used to equip - to provide tools others can use in their relationship with God.
The gifts are to be used to edify - to lift the countenance, to encourage believers.
Note that God gives to each differently - 1 Cor 12:28. God only expects us to use what He has given us, so His project plan for us focuses on us using what He gave us.
