Ephesians 4:13 - Additional Comments

How long do we use our gifts, to equip and edify (vs 12)? Wow, look at the goals:
- until we all have the unity of the faith (a unanimous view of God) (being of the same mind - Phil 2:2) - God does not want us to have different denominations, different perspectives on truth. He wants us all to hold fast to the single truth. We need to draw closer to Him to discern what that is.
- until we all come to the knowledge of the Son of God - until we all know Him intimately (now we can only know if part - 1 Cor 13:12)
- until we have come to be a perfect person, measured by the fullness of Christ - what a yardstick. We are to be completely like Christ. We are to be growing in maturity, not remaining babes (1 Cor 3:1-3). Isn't it sad when you see an adult, one who's been around for a long time, still acting like a child, having never matured? Isn't it sad to see a Christian, one who has been in the church for a long time, to still be a child in the faith? What are symptoms of a childlike faith? See verse 14.
These are the goals we need to have for each other. I want this for you so much that I will be using my gifts to help you accomplish these goals.
These goals deal with both Christian theology and Christian living.
