Ephesians 5:25 - The Message
Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christs love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. Theyre really doing themselves a favor—since theyre already "one" in marriage.

Ephesians 5:25 - Additional Comments
In verses 25-27, what a responsibility we have. We are to work towards being able to present our wives as spotless, holy, without blemish. Then, we present our wives to ourselves as a glorious person.
How to Treat a Woman (and encourage intimacy):
1. Love her in the same way Christ loves the church {Eph 5:25-26}
- Many women feel unloved by their husband. They don't need to know they are loved, they need to feel they are loved.
2. Be her leader, especially spiritually {Eph 5:22-24)
- She desperately wants the man to be a leader
- Men often ignore their responsibilities, placing a tremendous burden on their wives. Wives many times carry the family, spiritually and in many others ways.
3. Protect her, be her hero {1 Pet 3:7, 1 Tim 5:8}
4. Give her value (honor) {1 Pet 3:7, Prov 31:26}
- Does she feel valued by her? What gives her value? (attention, compliments, gifts, touch w/o sex, listening, getting her advice, not paying attention to other women)
