Galatians 3:25 - Additional Comments

The law is to reveal (and even increase) our sin (vs 19,22), to prepare the way for Christ (vs 19), and to bring us to faith in Christ (vs 22,24).
Once faith comes, the law is no longer needed to show us our sin, to tutor us, to be our custodian.
So that the law was our custodian until Christ came. The word custodian refers to a servant of the family responsible to watch over the son from the nursery to his entrance upon manhood. He governs the child's behavior until the child has the maturity to do what is right without external constraints. The "custodian" or "tutor" or "schoolmaster" does not have the power to make the child's heart good, nor can he give the child his inheritance. But it could not change the heart nor give an inheritance. Without faith the law cannot profit - Heb 4:2.
And only God can give them a heart of faith - Jer 24:7.
