Galatians 4:16 - Additional Comments
After such affection for Paul (vs 14-15), now Paul wonders if their affections have completely turned around, where he is now the enemy. Why would this have happened? They were following the wrong master (vs 9-10), and didn't want to hear the truth. Do you ever avoid church or Sunday School because you've been following the wrong master, and don't want to hear the truth? Isn't that like standing in the street covering your eyes and ears, not wanting to know about the truck heading straight for you? Both lead to pain, death, destruction. Ignorance is not bliss, because you still have to pay the consequences. "Oh, I didn't know I had to pay taxes!" "Oh, I didn't know I had to put oil in my car!" We need to desperately be seeking God's truth, both general and also what He wants us to hear about our life.
