Genesis 37:5 - Additional Comments

Joseph apparently already had a great relationship with God, for God to reveal Himself to Joseph in this manner.
God gave a special gift to Joseph, knowing what troubles lie in wait for him - God gave Joseph hope in the future, despite the challengs of today. Oh, if only we could be given this kind of revelation to give us hope! And yet we have! See Jer 29:11, 1 Cor 1:7-9, Phil 3:20, 2 Tim 4:8, Titus 2:13, Heb 9:28, 2 Peter 3:12, Jude 1:21. God has revealed tremendous things for our future, to give us hope. Much in the same way Christ had the joy set before Him, and they certainly weren't talking about events on this world (Heb 12:2).
Isn't it interesting that God prepared Joseph beforehand to endure the trials? Any trial that you face, God has paved the way beforehand to make sure you can make it through. Take a look at the trial, and take a look at how God prepared you for it, even though you didn't realize He had.
