Genesis 43:2

This was probably several months later (see vs 10). Their boughten grain went quickly, as they had no means to replenish it. Meanwhile, Simeon is rotting in the jail in Egypt (vs 42:24).
Interesting that Jacob didn't mention Simeon. Maybe he had given up on getting him back, especially with the temperament of the governor of Egypt.
Joseph had pulled that trick of keeping Simeon to make sure his family returned. How hard it must have been for Joseph to wait for them. How hard it must have been for Joseph not to go talk to Simeon and ask all about his family, and to comfort Simeon in jail.
