Genesis 50:21 - Additional Comments
How often do you hear of broken relationships among people you know?
We need to make forgiving a part of our lifestyle.
Joseph's brothers now feared he might retaliate now that their father is dead. They are judging Joseph based on their character and not his. They underestimated the genuineness of Joseph's character and affection. We feel the same toward God about our sins.
Do people underestimate your forgiveness or your unforgiveness?
Why don't we forgive? We want the injustice to be dealt with, to be corrected. Does God wait for us to make right on the wrong we did before He forgives us? No! In fact, there's no way we can make our wrongs right to God God doesn't expect this, and neither did Joseph - a beautiful picture of God's forgiveness.
We cannot heal wounds we cause, no matter how hard we try (e.g. adultery). Only God can do that. See Isa 61:2-4.
