Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14 - Additional Comments

Ahaz did not want a sign, but Isaiah prophesied of a sign to come, one that Ahaz would never see - that of the Messiah. Immanuel means "God with us."
