James 4:6

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Here's the bottom line. Are you proud, selfish, friends of the world? God will oppose you, resist you. That's scary.
Are you humble, seeking the best for others, serving God? God will give you beyond what you deserve (that's grace)!
