James 5:5

Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

The implication here is not just the accumulation of wealth, but doing it at the expense or neglect of others.
How do you neglect others with your wealth, when you are not wealthy? Ah, but you are - wealthy in spirit, wealthy in time. How available are you when others need your time, like to move to a new home, clean, pull weeds, watch their kids (even in church nursery), be a friend (there are a lot of lonely people, even if you aren't), teach them, help them with your professional skill (for free), etc.
Read this verse again with that in mind.
