James 5:4 - The Message

All the workers you’ve exploited and cheated cry out for judgment. The groans of the workers you used and abused are a roar in the ears of the Master Avenger. You’ve looted the earth and lived it up. James 5:4 - Additional Comments

Verses 4-6: Wow, the destructive character of the rich person! Alas, that poor, poor fool.
We so easily dismiss these 3 verses, seeing the person it describes - wealthy, which you are not, and full of evil against others, which you are not.
Ah, but wait. Let us look more carefully. Examine yourself. Maybe you have a pure heart, but maybe not.
Who mows your field and are reapers of your crops? Just ask, who serves you? The waitress (what was her name? how did you tip?), the McDonald's clerk (how did you handle that incorrect order?), the grocery store bag boy (how did you treat him after he bent your loaf of bread?), the other person in traffic (what did you say to your passenger when the other car drove slow or made a driving mistake?), the help desk person on the phone (what happened when they could not help you?), the sales person in a store (when they gave you incorrect info and you actually knew more than them?), etc.
