Jeremiah 1:11 - Additional Comments
God begins to give Jeremiah the principle task for his life. God may have been speaking to Jeremiah in a dream or a day dream, as God give Jeremiah information both visually and with voice.
Sometimes God's message can be cryptic, like in this passage. God will need to make sure Jeremiah understands to he can convey it to others. So I think God not only gives visually and with voice, but it seems that God also touches Jeremiahs mind with awareness and wisdom to understand (e.g. Jeremiah knew it was an almond tree, and God commends him for it in vs 12).
The almost tree normally buds and blossoms early, so it's been nicknamed the "hasty tree". God is watching, waiting (vs 13), ready to perform His work against Judah. It will come early, like the buds on an almond tree.
