Jeremiah 19:15 - Additional Comments
Notice that the Israelites were condemned earlier in this chapter for their following after other gods (vs 3, 13). With the terrible prediction, and the giving of the specific cause of it, you might think they would do all they could to avoid it. But no, we see here the stiffened their necks, have become obstinate, so that even though they knew they were headed to a terrible fate, they would continue to do the damaging things that caused it! This sounds like an alcoholic, or anyone else who has an addiction they cannot break, even though it is destroying them.
Is there anything in your life that is leading to problems, and the crash has not yet come, but that is the direction you are heading in? Don't be like the people of Judah - turn, repent, and make your decision that you will change, that road to problems will end now because of the turn you will be making.
