Jeremiah 2:3 - Additional Comments

Wow, look at the quality of the relationship that Israel used to have with God. Israel was kind to God, in love with God, would seek after God (vs 2), was holiness to God, the first of His crops. God was offended by any nation that came up against Israel, and would destroy them. And look how far from that Israel has come (vs 5).
When you have that great relationship with God, people see it, admire it, and respect it. They smile at the life you are living. When that sours, people see it and pity it, for that implies a life of trouble, shame, and disappointments.
Where is your life headed, based on your relationship with God, and the progress you are making? Success and hope, or trouble and disappointments?
God doesn't require perfection, but He does look for progress.
