No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

Jesus is God, yet we are told that even though we've seen Jesus, we've not seen God. This refers to God the Father. We've seen the Son, but not the Father.
Even though we have not seen the Father, the Son has told us about Him. The New Testament is all based on what Christ has revealed to us.
And through the Son we have seen the glory of Christ (vs 14), even though we cannot fully see here on earth the glory of God.
