And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.

What a statement about prayer. Many times we talk to God as Jesus did in verse 41, thanking Him that He heard our prayer. Yet we see hear and should learn that He always hears our prayers. We should know this in the same way Jesus knew it.
