We are not just to love one another, but to do it in the same way Christ did (verse 12) -- and He laid down His life for others (verse 13).
Can you lay down your life for others? How about those at your work, in your family, in your neighborhood? We are not just to be their friends, their companions, but we are to lay down our life for them! Is that how you treat them? Next time you get in a disagreement with your wife, remind yourself that Jesus asks you to lay down your life for this person, continuously.
