John 16:4

But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

John 16:4 - Additional Comments

This is the time for Jesus to start clarifying some things that He has purposely been vague with for the past 3 years.
He spoke a certain way to them during the 3 years, knowing that He would continue to be with them. But now, he will no longer be with them. So He must convey a different set of knowledge now.
As a person matures in Christ, they can be fed meat, whereas in the beginning it could only be milk.
