Jesus denied his request, but gave him so much more. We need to remember this whenever we are denied requests.
Jesus, out of compassion, quickly drops the rebuke and helps.
Jesus had rebuked him for only believing if he sees miracles. Here the man must have realized his previous weakness, because now he believes only by Jesus word, without seeing the miracle.
How would you react? Can you take Jesus at His word, or do you require more?
As he makes his way home, his mind must be racing as he considers all the possibilities. He had almost a day of travel time.
Faith involves believing what God says and acting on it even when there is no visible or tangible evidence to believe. Faith is the assurance of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
Notice how easily Jesus healed. There was no concern for identity, location, distance, time, etc. Jesus has the power, presence, and sight of God.
