Joshua 1:6 - Additional Comments

God promised the people of Israel a promised land. God gave them the land. It was theirs -according to God, they owned it. But their enjoyment of it depended upon their taking possession of it. God gave Israel 300,000 sq. miles of land, but the most they ever claimed was 30,000 sq. miles. They took possession of only about 1/10th of what God had given them as owners.
Comparatively, we are told in Ephesians 1:3 that we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places. Our God is a God of making and keeping promises. He gave a promise to Israel, and He's given promises to us. We see in the following 3 verses the condition on receiving the promises.
