Barak had 10,000 troops ready for battle, but they lacked chariots. The Iron Age began but had not yet reached the Israelites. Israelite infantry to attack iron chariots is like sending an infantry armed with outdated weapons against an army of tanks & troops armed with the latest technology (USA vs Iraq).
